A well rounded Accounts Assistant post for a small and growing business in the hear of Reading. Ideally looking to start at the end of May 2025 this position is available for up to 14 months.

This business is a small but rapidly growing consultancy firm and have seen significant improvements and growth over the last 3 years which looks set to continue. The business is based in the heart of Reading and is close to both train and bus routes with some limited parking on site.

Job Description

The key responsibilities of the Accounts Assistant will be to:

  • Sales ledger processing
  • Maintaining all purchase ledger accounts and performing weekly payment runs
  • Cash and Bank Reconciliations
  • Monitoring aged debt and following up on outstanding invoices
  • VAT support
  • Accruals, prepayments and adjustments
  • Supporting month end closure
  • Dealing with all incoming client queries
  • Supporting the Finance Manager with any ad hoc project support

The Successful Applicant

The ideal Accounts Assistant will be someone who has worked in a similar role previously and has working within a role that incorporates Accounts Payable/Receivable and reconciliations alongside a daily use of Excel and a larger ERP system.
