As an Account Manager, you'll be at the forefront of our client's innovation, driving the Life Science accounts. The role is the primary point of contact for assigned customers and is responsible for the development of new commercial opportunities with strategic accounts and/or distributors in the assigned territory.

My client is a leading speciality chemicals business that owns and operates more than 100 manufacturing facilities, sales, and technical offices around the world and has about 8,000 employees.

Job Description

  • Build and maintain strong, long-lasting customer relationships with existing and potential accounts to drive revenue growth
  • Identify opportunities to expand business by up selling, cross-selling, and introducing new solutions with core products across customer base
  • Delivery exceptional customer service by fostering close customer engagement and building trust
  • Actively promote the pharmaceutical portfolio via face-to-face meetings, virtual calls, seminars, and trade shows
  • Stay informed about industry trends, competitor activities, and regulatory changes to anticipate customer and market needs while providing strategic insights to the management team
  • Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts with customers, ensuring profitability while maintaining superior customer service
  • Initiate and manage projects as required to ensure we deliver on our financial plan
  • Record all generated opportunities in CRM, ensuring pipeline is consistently updated and accurate
  • Collaborate with cross functional internal teams (CER, Marketing, Product management, Technical team, Regulatory, QA) to develop and implement integrated solutions.
  • Oversee forecasting and demand planning for assigned accounts.



The role requires frequent travels within Europe for face-to-face customer meetings, to attend conferences, seminars, and trade shows and to join internal meetings.

The Successful Applicant

Ideally you will have the following:

  • Bachelor's degree in chemistry, pharmacy, business
  • Proven work experience as an Account Manager
  • Experience in pharma ingredients
  • Strong network in pharma industry in Europe across customers segments (innovators, generic, OTC/consumer, CMO, CDMO).
  • Strong communication skills with proven ability to communicate, present and influence key stakeholders at all levels of an organization.
  • Solid experience with CRM software and MS Office.
  • Proven ability to navigate multiple account management projects at a time, while maintaining sharp attention to details
  • Excellent listening, negotiation, and presentation abilities
  • Positive attitude, strong team spirit and flexibility
  • Excellent organizational and planning skills
  • Result oriented with a hunter mentality
  • 40-60% travel time
