The breadth of roles at Warwickshire County Council mean you can shape your own career, whether that’s becoming the best at what you do, progressing with your strengths and ambition, or exploring interests in other areas within the council, you’ll grow into who you want to be. Develop the career you want. Learn different skills. There is nothing stopping you from going a long way here and personally contributing to the county’s success.

Holiday entitlement

28 days plus eight bank holidays, together with one extra day to be taken at Christmas on a day determined by WCC. This will rise to 31 days after 4 years of service. Annual leave entitlement is reduced on a pro-rata basis if you are employed on a part-time basis.

Pension

The Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS) allows you to save while you are working in order to enjoy a pension once you retire. The LGPS is provided by your employer who pays part of the cost of providing this excellent range of benefits, so it’s an extremely valuable part of your employment package. As a member, the LGPS will provide you with a secure future retirement income, independent of share prices and stock market fluctuations.

The benefits of joining the LGPS also include life cover and family benefits in the event of your death. There’s also cover in the event of your early retirement on the grounds of permanent ill-health, redundancy, or business efficiency. You have the option to exchange part of your pension for some tax-free cash on retirement.
