This role is a 16 month FTC Maternity cover with a possibility of extending due to their global growth!Job DescriptionCollaborate with the NPD team during the concept stage of product development to estimate testing requirements and potential costs, advising on the commercial viability of the product.Identify necessary testing for products in development and suggest adjustments to the NPD team to minimize testing costs.Arrange for test samples to be approved by technologists, review initial samples for safety, quality, and compliance with legislative standards, and address concerns with relevant departments including factories, labs, supply chain, NPD, design, and logistics.Review packaging mock-ups and collaborate with the Design and NPD teams to ensure packaging meets requirements, symbols, and legislative standards.Provide specific test instructions to FE labs and obtain quotes for testing.Communicate with suppliers about testing requirements, and keep the NPD team informed about testing costs and progress.Ensure all products meet approved testing requirements.Manage product compliance by proactively renewing testing expiry dates for existing products and keeping all relevant departments informed.Respond to customer inquiries regarding product compliance.Review and address quality and safety complaints, applying corrective actions where necessary.Serve as the primary contact for issues related to trading standards and the department of weights and measures.Attend major meetings and review NAV to monitor expected arrival dates of goods at the warehouse and customer deadlines, prioritizing testing schedules and updating relevant stakeholders on testing progressComplete NPD product requirement forms and approve product artwork forms.Create and maintain technical files with legally required product information.Upload technical files and product information to customer websites per requirements and legislation.Interpret test reports for customer declarations and write investigation reports for serious faults.Collate data for quarterly WEEE and battery submissions.Update and share the 'test request' spreadsheet and weekly tracker of testing projects with relevant teams.Perform all duties outlined in the Junior Technologist job descriptionThe Successful Applicant2+ years of Compliance or Regulatory Experience within Accessories, Gifting, Toys, Food Contact Products, Consumer Electronics, or Home GoodsKnowledge and understating of EU directives/ Laws/ regulations applicable in testing products including but not limited to: EN71, EMC, RoHS , REACHKnowledge of environmental legislation regarding batteries, WEEE and wood regulationsKnowledge of symbols/ legislative requirements in relation to packaging and instruction templatesAbility to read and interpret test reports and completion of customer declarationsCommunication skills at all levels both verbally and writtenKnowledge of manufacturing processSocial / ethical compliance knowledgeNavision - Intermediate levelWhat's on Offer£40-45K Base SalaryGREAT BenefitsProfessional Training and UpskillingGREAT Working CultureContactSally Ristine-BarrattQuote job refJN-082024-6498628Phone number+44 207 269 2108Job summaryJob functionComplianceSubsectorRegulatory ComplianceSectorFMCG (Fast Moving Consumer Goods)LocationWest SussexContract typeTemporaryConsultant nameSally Ristine-BarrattConsultant phone+44 207 269 2108Job referenceJN-082024-6498628
