About Our Client

You will be working for an independent, forward-looking firm that continues to build on its traditional roots and reputation. Their clients have a wide geographical spread, mainly within the Dorset, Wiltshire, Hampshire and Somerset areas.

Job Description

  • The successful candidate will work closely with the Tax Director to grow and develop the firm's tax services, with a focus on advisory work for new and existing clients. The Tax Director will be looking to build a strong relationship, discussing marketing strategies and consulting on tax planning projects. The role will also involve some hands-on compliance work for new clients, with the Tax Manager taking responsibility for the client relationship from the outset and with the support of the rest of the tax team

The Successful Applicant

A successful Tax Manager should have:

  • ATT or CTA Qualified
  • A degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
  • A broad and deep knowledge of personal taxes, including capital gains tax and inheritance tax is a prerequisite for the role. A good working knowledge of trust taxation, corporation tax and SDLT would be a distinct advantage
  • Proficiency in tax software and databases.
  • Strong managerial, organisational and communication skills.
  • An analytical mind with problem-solving abilities.
