Job Description

This exciting Senior ER Manager role will involve you in a broad remit, including:

  • Oversee the delivery of employee relations support to managers and colleagues through consistent and effective case management practices.
  • Proactively coach and support managers in handling the full range of employee relations matters, encouraging informal resolution where appropriate and ensuring alignment with policies and procedures.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of people policies and practices, supporting regular reviews and implementing updates where necessary.
  • Manage and coordinate external employment claims, balancing legal and business risk while upholding the company values and standards.
  • Implementation of organisational change programmes and undertaking colleague consultation activity.
  • Management and development of a team of two advisors.
  • Working closely with recognised Trade Unions.



The Successful Applicant

To be successful in this Senior ER Manager role you should:

  • Possess a comprehensive understanding of employment law and employee relations practices, ensuring effective management of related issues.
  • Experience of working in a complex, regulated environment, preferable Financial Services.
  • Proven people management skills and ability.
  • Experience of working with Trade Unions preferred.
  • Demonstrate high levels of self-motivation and the ability to work independently, driving results with minimal supervision.
  • Show flexibility and able to thrive under pressure in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, maintaining focus and effectiveness in challenging situations.
  • Highly organised with the ability to manage time efficiently and prioritise tasks to meet deadlines.
  • Can make informed decisions that appropriately balance business needs with legislative requirements.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders at all levels to provide a commercially focused advice service aligned with business needs and strategic priorities.
  • Work collaboratively with the wider HR team to build capability to ensure cases are escalated at the right time, and any contractual changes are effectively executed.
  • Make informed decisions on when to escalate or work with external legal counsel in a timely manner.
