Environmental Manager

This role gives you the opportunity to be the driving force behind identifying improvement opportunities and leading the sites in embedding a culture of change. You will be leading on environmental initiatives and work with the wider group to deliver sustainable change.

• Develop and implement environmental strategies to meet corporate sustainability goals.
• Lead indirect teams to deliver the functional elements of Environmental Management across the manufacturing sites; advising the business at all levels to achieve the best balanced outcome for the business and the environment.
• Influence the group's environmental strategies, procedures and guidelines to achieve environmental targets, bearing in mind each site's objectives.
• Proactively anticipate how internal and external changes could affect the business and implementing countermeasures or negotiating change programmes when needed.
• Audit all aspects of the management system to ensure delivery of requirements.
• Promote and manage the culture of continuous environmental improvement.
• Ensure compliance with environmental legislation and keep up-to-date with new legislation and standards.
• Develop environmental policies and procedures to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Liaise with relevant bodies such as local authorities, the public, and environmental groups.
