They are committed to embedding sustainability across their end-to-end operations and are ensure they continue to improve and evolve as an organisation.Job Description This role gives you the opportunity to be the driving force behind identifying improvement opportunities and leading the sites in embedding a culture of change. You will be leading on environmental initiatives and work with the wider group to deliver sustainable change.Develop and implement environmental strategies to meet corporate sustainability goals.Lead indirect teams to deliver the functional elements of Environmental Management across the manufacturing sites; advising the business at all levels to achieve the best balanced outcome for the business and the environment.Influence the group's environmental strategies, procedures and guidelines to achieve environmental targets, bearing in mind each site's objectives.Proactively anticipate how internal and external changes could affect the business and implementing countermeasures or negotiating change programmes when needed.Audit all aspects of the management system to ensure delivery of requirements.Promote and manage the culture of continuous environmental improvement.Ensure compliance with environmental legislation and keep up-to-date with new legislation and standards.Develop environmental policies and procedures to ensure regulatory compliance.Liaise with relevant bodies such as local authorities, the public, and environmental groups.The Successful Applicant An HSE/Environmental Manager with proven experience, ideally within a manufacturing or distribution operation.
