Our client are a growing wealth management firm who are based in the City of London.

Job Description

The Data Protection Manager will be responsible for:

  • Assesses projects, initiatives and/or products and services for privacy compliance, carries out Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIA) and other privacy risk assessments, advises on privacy by design requirements, and identifies privacy risks and steps to mitigate them.
  • Supports the maintenance and enhancement of the Global Privacy Program within the region, helping ensure compliance with applicable privacy laws, regulations, and internal policy requirements, and fostering a corporate culture that respects privacy and builds trust
  • Works closely with business areas to identify, document and track their privacy risks and recommends actions to address them, reporting on the risk position as required, through formal organisational risk management processes.
  • Supports the firm to develop and maintain its Record of Processing Activities.

The Successful Applicant

The Data Protection Manager should have the following skills and experience:

  • Demonstrates a strong privacy background, including a minimum of 3 years' privacy experience, and an ethical approach to data use.
  • Demonstrates good technical knowledge of data protection laws, regulations and practices in the UK and experience of applying these in practice, including communicating with privacy regulators and clients.
  • Excellent administration, documentation, planning and organisation skills. Excellent attention to detail. Experience of formal risk management preferred.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication and advocacy skills; able to express complex issues to non-expert audiences, within internal or client-facing settings; communicates professionally and tactfully with stakeholders at all levels, building positive relationships.
