Commercial Manager - On Trade / Ind Off Trade Drinks

Job Description

The Commercial Manager - On Trade / Ind Off Trade Drinks will be responsible for winning new business including nationals, regional groups, independent and wholesalers across the On and Independent Off Trade. The role will support the growing sales team and partner agency in the field to ensure they achieve the set targets and commercial goals.

The successful candidate will hunt and win new business, engage with wholesaler sales and marketing teams to ensure the brand is at the centre on their drinks category conversations, tenders and partnerships. Ensure customer success volume growth, be at and create industry related events bringing the brand to light through commercially led showcasing, working closely with the marketing team at all times.

In addition this person will manage sales admin tasks to achieve effective planning, including forecasting, updating the CRM pipelines and information and reporting revenue by channel. This person will be an ambassador for the brands and consistently network in the industry.

The Successful Applicant

The Commercial Manager - On Trade / Ind Off Trade Drinks will come with the following skills and experiences:

  • Be passionate about hunting and winning new business in both the on trade and off trade
  • Have solid account management experience needed - having worked in the FMCG / Drinks industry.
  • Proven sales experience of selling to On-Trade, Off-Trade & RTM wholesalers
  • Existing contacts in on and off-trade channel is crucial
  • Excellent experience working in sales in a drinks business - non alcoholic or alcohol both considered.
  • Have a commercial / entrepreneurial spirit (think outside the box, think differently)
  • Ability to be agile and lend their hand to a task, even if it is outside of their role / job title
  • Successful negotiation skills with senior executives
  • Positive, get up and go attitude
  • Great personality with an enthusiasm to build relationships with current and new customers in the on-trade
  • Someone who can work as part of a team, while also being a self starter
  • Excellent at generating own leads and driving sales through existing business
  • Willing to go the extra mile & exceed targets set
  • Highly organised & self-motivated



Be able to commute to the Buckinghamshire office/location 50% of the working week. Therefore, flexible on location depending on experience of the candidate. Can be discussed in more detail with strong applicants.

What's on Offer

Circa £55,000 to £60,000 per annum + company bonus scheme + excellent longer term benefits.
