I am working on behalf of a client who is responsible for managing a diverse portfolio of properties, including residential, and historic buildings. Their stock is 257 properties around Greater Manchester. They support local communities by ensuring that their properties are well-maintained and fit for purpose.

Job Description



  • Manage day-to-day reactive and emergency property repairs.


  • Advise occupants on building maintenance and repair matters.


  • Conduct property inspections, including quinquennial and interregnum surveys.


  • Prepare work schedules, tender documents, and oversee contractor work.


  • Ensure maintenance meets environmental and net zero carbon targets.


  • Handle rental property management and tenancy-related maintenance.


  • Liaise with local authorities for planning permissions and preservation orders.


  • Administer insurance claims and liaise with loss adjusters.


  • Maintain records of ongoing and proposed works with associated costs.


  • Work collaboratively with specialists, including architects and engineers.


  • Provide budget forecasts and expenditure planning for maintenance programmes.


  • Ensure compliance with legal and health & safety regulations.


  • Work sensitively with property occupants, respecting their needs and responsibilities.



The Successful Applicant



  • Educated to degree level or with equivalent experience in surveying or property management.


  • Proven experience in property maintenance, reactive repairs, and conducting surveys.


  • Strong knowledge of legal frameworks, health & safety, and statutory regulations.


  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a customer-focused approach.


  • Ability to prioritise workload, meet deadlines, and work independently.


  • Proficient in IT, with experience streamlining complex systems being an advantage.


  • Capable of working within legal and regulatory constraints.


  • Understanding of or willingness to learn about the structures and governance of faith-based organisations.


  • Approachable, reliable, and empathetic, with an appreciation of diverse communities.


  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends when required.


  • Full driving licence and access to a vehicle for work purposes.



What's on Offer



  • Salary: £45,000 per annum.


  • Contract: Permanent, full-time (35 hours per week) with a flexi-time policy.
