Save Job Back to Search Job Description Summary Similar JobsThis is a wide-ranging role within a growing energy generation business.Projects, Corporate, Commercial work in the Energy SectorAbout Our ClientOur Client is a rapidly expanding energy generation company which is a known brand within the power generation sector.Job DescriptionYou will:Play an active part in commercial decision making and risk management alongside our commercial teams.Assess project risks and risk management strategies and presenting these to directors and senior team members.Advise independently and with the support of junior lawyers and/or external counsel on both standard form and bespoke construction (FIDIC, NEC, JCT) contracts as well Engineering (EPC / O&M) and other commercial agreements relating to the construction, maintenance and operation of power generation infrastructure.Ensure that projects and transactions comply with all relevant corporate and regulatory requirements.Work closely with and advising commercial and financial specialists within the team in negotiations and assisting prompt decision-making among key stakeholders.Provide proactive legal support to commercial and operations teams on projects that are in-contract and completed and assist monitoring of on-going performance to enable the business to anticipate issues and manage risks that may arise.Supervise and review legal due diligence on acquisitions where required.Manage and mentor junior team members, developing the know-how of the team.This is a hybrid role requiring office attendance at least three days per week.The Successful ApplicantThe successful candidate will be a qualified lawyer with at least 8 years post qualification experience in a law firm or an established business working in relevant sectors.They will have experience of, working in the power / renewable energy / infrastructure sectors.Previous experience of working in-house in a related company or sector would be an advantage.Please note, this organisation is unable to offer sponsorship, the candidate will need the right to work in the UK without assistance from an employer.
