This Construction Solicitor role in Edinburgh (0-4 PQE) offers the opportunity to work on high-profile, complex contentious matters in infrastructure, energy, civil engineering, PFI/PPP, and professional negligence. You'll advise and represent diverse clients, ranging from contractors to employers across mediation, adjudication, arbitration, and litigation throughout the UK, all within a forward-looking, flexibility-focused environment.

Job Description

  • Advising clients on high-stakes contentious construction and infrastructure disputes across energy, civil engineering, PPP/PFI, renewables, and professional negligence sectors
  • Representing clients in ADR processes and formal proceedings including adjudication, mediation, arbitration, litigation (TCC, Court of Session)
  • Drafting settlement agreements, dispute documentation, and strategising resolution pathways
  • Managing relationships with sophisticated commercial clients and supporting business development initiatives
  • Contributing to team knowledge via thought leadership and knowledge-sharing initiatives

The Successful Applicant

  • A solicitor or equivalent with 0-4 years' PQE in contentious construction or infrastructure disputes
  • Familiar with adjudication, arbitration, litigation, and dispute avoidance mechanisms
  • Comfortable working across complex, multi-jurisdictional project disputes (UK-wide)
  • Collaborative, commercially-aware, and responsive to client needs
  • Keen to grow within a high-performance, inclusive team
