Job Description

  • Prepare detailed financial reports and forecasts to support decision-making processes.
  • Provide financial analysis and insights to assist in budget planning and management.
  • Ensure compliance with public sector accounting standards and financial regulations.
  • Collaborate with various teams to monitor and control expenditure effectively.
  • Support month-end and year-end accounting processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Assist in the preparation of business cases and financial evaluations for new initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate financial records and documentation for audit purposes.
  • Act as a point of contact for financial queries from internal and external stakeholders.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Band 7 Management Accountant should have:

  • A relevant qualification in accounting or finance.
  • Experience in financial planning, reporting, and analysis within the public sector.
  • Familiarity with public sector financial regulations and standards.
  • Strong IT skills, including proficiency in financial software and spreadsheets.
  • Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with various stakeholders.
