London 27 June 2014: PageGroup, the specialist recruitment company, has been recognised by several influential bodies for its pioneering initiatives to improve diversity and inclusion in the workplace.
In particular, the company last week received a commendation from Top Employers for Working Families in the Best for All Stages of Motherhood category for its support of working mothers, which includes a mentoring scheme and flexible working opportunities.
It has also been shortlisted by the CIPD People Management Awards for Best Diversity Initiative, and has achieved a Silver benchmark from Opportunity Now and a Bronze from Race For Opportunity by Business in the Community for its diversity work.
As part of its global diversity and inclusion initiative Open at Page, PageGroup is committed to developing an inclusive working environment, forming strong partnerships with stakeholders and charity organisations to sustain and improve the diversity of its workforce.
Sarah Kirk, regional director for Diversity & Inclusion, says PageGroup’s workforce – as well as the candidates it places – are given equal opportunities for employment and promotion, based on ability, qualifications and suitability.
“By creating a more inclusive working environment, we are opening up a greater spectrum of talent which attracts the best people, regardless of ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, race, religion, age or status as parent or carer."
“This recognition from such influential bodies is very welcome, and indicates that we are making significant progress in our diversity and inclusion work,” Mrs Kirk said.
