Their location in Sheffield is part of their expansive network of facilities, ensuring their presence and influence in the market.Job DescriptionManaging all day-to-day accounting of the business.Manage, lead and mentor the finance team, and create a culture of continuous improvement & professional development.Preparation of the daily, weekly, monthly reporting and forecasting including responsibility of the annual budget/multi-year plan preparation and variance reporting, working with various departments to validate and consolidate budgetary data.Ensure accurate recording of financial transactions and balance sheet reconciliations including strong inventory control, maintenance of fixed asset registers, preparation of capital expenditure request, capital expenditure reporting and appraisals.Responsible for annual stock count and fixed asset inventories.Overseeing the audit process and liaising with external personnel where required.Assist Operations and Plant Managers with the periodic update of standard costs in the bill of materials and associated reports.Understand the business drivers through trend analysis, engaging with operations and other business partners to identify root causes and countermeasures.Monitor business performance and provide understanding behind the numbers to drive performance improvement.Support the business with the financial strategy and decision-making processes.Any other ad hoc duties as requiredThe Successful ApplicantA successful Financial Controller should have:Fully qualified ACA/ACCA/CIMA (or equivalent) with previous management and reporting experience within the manufacturing environment with at least 3 years post qualification experience.Strong knowledge of UK GAAP, IFRS, and other relevant accounting standardsStrong analytical and organisational skills.Proficiency in financial reporting and analysis tools.Experience with standard costing and inventory control.Ability to work independently and collaboratively across multiple teamProactive planning, organisational and time management skills with the ability to meet tight deadlinesWhat's on OfferAn salary range of £60000 - £70000 per annum.The opportunity to work in a team-oriented environment in the industrial / manufacturing industry.A chance to lead and oversee an entire accounting department, making a significant impact on the company.A role based in the vibrant location of Sheffield.We encourage all candidates who believe they possess the skills and experience necessary to excel as a Financial Controller to apply.
