Job Description

  • Senior Buyer - Path to Management, Leicester will be:
  • Managing and developing supplier relationships to achieve business objectives.
  • Implementing effective procurement strategies.
  • Identifying cost-saving opportunities and implementing them effectively.
  • Collaborating with other teams to ensure smooth supply chain operations.
  • Monitoring market trends and conducting benchmarking activities.
  • Ensuring compliance with company and industry regulations.
  • Managing purchasing budgets and maintaining accurate records.
  • Leading negotiations with suppliers to secure advantageous terms.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Senior Buyer in FMCG you should have:

  • Must have procurement/purchasing experience within food.
  • Excellent analytical and negotiation skills.
  • Strong importing experience is essential as you will be liasing with global suppliers.
  • Strong knowledge of supplier or third party management software.
  • Aptitude in decision-making and working with numbers.
  • Good understanding of market dynamics and sound business judgement.
  • Ability to gather and analyse data and work with figures.
  • Desirable to be bi-lingual
