Job Description

  • Manage and lead a team of trade operatives, providing clear direction, support, and performance management.
  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the repairs service, ensuring timely and efficient response to maintenance requests.
  • Develop and implement effective repair and maintenance schedules, ensuring minimal disruption to residents.
  • Monitor and control budgets, ensuring cost-effective use of resources without compromising on quality.
  • Conduct regular site inspections to ensure work meets required standards and health and safety regulations.
  • Liaise with residents, contractors, and other stakeholders to address and resolve repair issues promptly and professionally.
  • Maintain accurate records of all repairs and maintenance activities, producing reports as required.
  • Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance service delivery and operational efficiency.



The Successful Applicant

  • Proven experience in a similar role within the social housing sector.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills, with experience managing trade operatives.
  • Excellent knowledge of building maintenance and repair practices, including health and safety regulations.
  • Ability to manage budgets and control costs effectively.
  • Strong organisational and project management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a customer-focused approach.
  • Proficient in using IT systems and software related to repairs and maintenance management.
  • Relevant qualifications in construction, building maintenance, or a related field (desirable).
