We are looking for a diligent Surveyor who is proficient at managing public sector construction projects. The ideal candidate should be adept at overseeing all aspects of the surveying of Social Housing Stock.

Job Description



  • Conduct property inspections to diagnose building defects and assess repair requirements.


  • Specify, schedule, and oversee responsive and planned repair works.


  • Raise, manage, and monitor works orders using housing/repairs management systems.


  • Liaise with contractors and in-house teams to ensure timely and quality completion of works.


  • Ensure repairs comply with health & safety, housing legislation, and relevant regulations.


  • Monitor contractor performance and complete post-inspections for quality assurance.


  • Provide technical advice to tenants, colleagues, and stakeholders.


  • Manage disrepair claims and liaise with legal teams where necessary.


  • Maintain accurate records, survey data, and property condition reports.


  • Support void inspections, prepare scopes of work, and ensure timely re-let.


  • Work collaboratively with housing officers, asset teams, and external partners.


  • Contribute to stock condition surveys and asset management planning.


  • Respond to emergency repairs and complex repair issues promptly and effectively.



The Successful Applicant

A successful Surveyor should have:

  • An educational qualification in Surveying or a related discipline
  • Proficiency in using surveying instruments and software
  • Solid knowledge of construction regulations and standards
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication and collaboration abilities
  • A commitment to accuracy and detail
