Job Description

As a Production Operator you will be working within the Multi Point Gluing Section, your primary purpose is to ensure the product is produced to specification. While support other area as and when required.

As a Production Operator you will:

  • Comply with the company Health & Safety, Hygiene and Environmental Regulations.
  • Working in conjunction with other operators in the technical setting up and the safe running of the machines.
  • Stripping out waste from blanks and the loading of the machine hopper removing empty pallets when required.
  • Identifies, locates and brings the pallets of blanks to the machine.
  • Setting up of the Image label machine.
  • Training of other personnel as and when required to ensure continuity.
  • Completion of all Kiwi transactions including pallet tickets.
  • Completion of quality checks when covering for the No. 1 operator.
  • Completion of associated safety checks and hygiene checks (Hygiene BRC 1 checks)
  • Visual and physical checks of the product for quality:
  • Compliance to quality task instruction, to ensure that finished product achieves the required specification.
  • Rotating with Packing, Palletising and Operating section on a regular basis, also to redeploy to other gluing machines/tray erectors, wrap and strap when required or other departments.

The Successful Applicant

  • Numerate and literate
  • Computer literacy, with a working knowledge of Microsoft applications
  • A good team player able to adapt to different situations.
  • The ability to work to achieve tight deadlines, often under some pressure
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Have the ability to work on their own initiative, and have a 'can do' attitude
  • Self-motivation and the drive and enthusiasm to contribute to the Plant's continuous improvement process
  • The ability to understand and learn new technology quickly, with a genuine desire to develop.
  • Previous manufacturing experience essential preferably within a Packaging / FMCG industry

  • Salary of £27,607, rising to £28,984 after probation
  • Current shift pattern is double days rotating weekly 06.00 - 14.00 / 14.00 - 22.00 Monday to Friday.
