Job Description

  • Develop, lead and execute purchasing strategies.
  • Track and report key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve effectiveness.
  • Craft negotiation strategies and close deals with optimal terms.
  • Forecast price and market trends to identify changes of balance in buyer-supplier power.
  • Determine quantity and timing of deliveries.
  • Monitor and forecast upcoming levels of demand for services and products.
  • Perform cost and scenario analysis, and benchmarking.
  • Assess, manage and mitigate risks.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Procurement Manager should have:-Work with the Head of Procurement to develop, implement, and embed the Procurement & Vendor Management policies and procedures to meet the expanded regulatory objectives.

-Work with the Head of Procurement Management to adapt and enhance the existing procurement policy, processes and procedures. Regulatory Engagement

-Work with the Regulatory Engagement Team to support the Procurement team's response to matters including Third Party Risk, Outsourcing, Cloud, and Critical Third Parties.

-Engage directly with FMID and the PSR as appropriate. Stakeholder Management

-C-suite level engagement and presentation at RiskCo & Exco may be required.

-Build robust relationships with relevant Supplier areas including but not limited to Technology, Software, Security, Operational Resilience, Legal, and Cyber Security.

-Work with the Commercial Management and Procurement team to ensure that interactions with Suppliers are consistent, proportionate, and considered.MCIPS or working towards.

* Degree educated or degree calibre.

* Experience with indirect tech biased procurement

* Minimum of 5-7 years in Procurement and Vendor Management - Technology/SaaS/Software Categories - desirable

* Experience in a supplier facing role with decision making responsibilities

* Excellent communication and negotiation skills.

* Experience with managing small teams.

* Excellent stakeholder engagement skills.

* Excellent understanding of commercial legal contract and terms and conditions.

* Demonstrate significant savings through contract management and negotiation.

* Exposure and experience of executing modern procurement sourcing techniques and solutions
