Job Description

  • Develop and implement procurement strategies for the department
  • Monitor and analyze industry trends and market conditions.
  • Negotiate contracts and agreements with suppliers.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure procurement goals are met.
  • Manage supplier relationships and maintain a supplier database ( internal and external stakeholders).
  • Implement cost-saving measures and initiatives.
  • Train and develop procurement staff.
  • Ensure compliance with the institution's procurement policies and procedures.
  • You will be developing and delivering procurement strategies across all category areas and spend management
  • Developing strong working relationships across multiple disciplines in both professional services.
  • Managing key stakeholders, analyzing data and presenting reports to senior stakeholders
  • using planning techniques and risk management competencies
  • developing option appraisals and creating commercial recommendations

The Successful Applicant

A successful Procurement Manager - Category Manager ( end to end procurement) should have:

  • Previous experience working as a Procurement or Category Manager within the public sector or not for profit
  • Strong knowledge of procurement processes and supplier management.
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in using procurement software and tools.
  • A strategic mindset, with the ability to analyse market trends and make informed decisions.
  • Ability to drive change and influence key decision makers
