A Junior Category Specialist is sought to join the Procurement & Supply Chain department of a leading company in the Professional Services industry. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing procurement processes, sourcing strategies, and supplier relationships as well as having exposure across all categories of the business.

Job Description

  • Developing and implementing sourcing strategies for assigned categories.
  • Managing procurement processes and supplier relationships.
  • Join the 'development pipeline' and have a clear progression and and promotion plan to clearly see how to achieve the next promotion.
  • Identifying and pursuing cost-saving opportunities.
  • Initiating key stakeholder engagement and management.
  • Analysing market trends to inform procurement decisions.
  • Working closely with internal stakeholders to ensure procurement needs are met.
  • Ensuring compliance with procurement policies and procedures.
  • Preparing and presenting procurement reports to management.
  • Contributing to the continuous improvement of procurement processes.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Junior Category Specialist should have:

  • A degree in Business, Finance, Supply Chain Management or a related field.
  • 1-4 years experience in procurement.
  • Experience in procurement and category management.
  • Strong analytical skills to identify procurement trends and opportunities.
  • Has a strong passion for procurement and wants to elevate their career in the industry.
  • Excellent negotiation skills to ensure the best deals for the company.
  • Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong communication skills to liaise with internal stakeholders and suppliers.
