There are circa 25,000 Group employees.The UK's small function has rapidly grown through a number of strategic acquisitions and continues to grow to support a diverse and complex base of assets.They are looking for a commercially astute and dynamic in-house regulatory lawyer to support in the growth of the team.Job DescriptionThe role will require you to provide legal support across the business, but with a focus on providing regulatory advice in connection with:development and construction projects in the UK and Ireland;acquisition of suitable assets / development opportunities;the operation and optimisation of fleet of assets.Responsibilities you can expect:assessing and advising directors and senior team members on regulatory project risks and risk management strategies;advising on, reviewing and drafting regulatory documents, procedure, applications and agreements;ensuring that projects and transactions comply with all relevant corporate and regulatory requirements;working closely with and advising the commercial and financial specialists within the team in negotiations and assisting prompt decision-making among key stakeholders;providing proactive legal support to our commercial and operations teams on projects that are in contract and completed, and assist monitoring of on-going performance to enable the business to anticipate issues and manage risks that may arise;reviewing or performing legal due diligence where required;ensuring the Business' ongoing compliance under law and regulation;instructing, liainsg with and workign alongside external legal counsel where required, including managing such external legal counsel to ensure that costs are minimised and develiered on budget; andcontributing to the know-how of the team, researching and presenting research to other legal team members.The Successful ApplicantA successful In-house Regulatory Lawyer should have:6/7 years PQEExperience in advising on regulatory aspects of power and infrastructure projects in a commercial context.Good drafting, negotiating, communication and presentation skills.Experience in Energy & Natural Resources and Utilities sectorYou will be expected to spend at least 3 days in office in Leeds per week and travel occasionally to Ireland.What's on OfferSalary DOE plus benefits including bonus, 6% matched pension, private healthcare and hybrid working.ContactLucy MartinQuote job refJN-082024-6511950Phone number+447812680116Job summaryJob functionLegalSubsectorEnergy - In HouseSectorEnergy & Natural ResourcesLocationLeedsContract typePermanentConsultant nameLucy MartinConsultant phone+447812680116Job referenceJN-082024-6511950
