The Head of FP&A will be responsible for creating and leading a commercially-oriented financial planning and analysis function, driving financial insight, strategy, and decision-making to support business growth and profitability. This role involves managing key financial processes, building cross-functional relationships, and advocating for continuous improvement, while working closely with senior leadership.

They are currently under private equity ownership and are looking to scale their operations and improve their financial planning and analysis function, with a strong focus on enhancing decision-making, profitability, and strategic growth.

Job Description

  • Developing and executing a strategy for an efficient FP&A function to support business scale and ensure accurate financial reporting.
  • Leading financial planning processes, including monthly reporting, annual budgeting, and forecasting.
  • Building strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, providing confidence in decision-making.
  • Implementing financial models to drive strategic decisions and improve profitability.
  • Standardising financial processes and KPIs to support business growth and continuous improvement.
  • Analysing customer margins, revenue streams, and product profitability to optimise sales efficiency.
  • Managing Board reporting with insightful commentary on financial and non-financial measures.
  • Identifying and tracking risks and opportunities, collaborating across teams to mitigate and capitalise on them.
  • Educating the wider business on FP&A practices and promoting a culture of financial excellence.
  • Leading change initiatives and fostering strong cross-functional collaboration throughout the business.



The Successful Applicant

The successful candidate will be an ambitious, analytical leader with strong communication skills and experience in financial planning and analysis. They will have expertise in driving strategic insight, managing financial processes, improving systems, and fostering cross-functional collaboration, ideally within a fast-paced, private equity-backed environment. Experience in manufacturing and standard costing is a plus.
