We are looking for an exceptional Head of Finance to lead and develop Nacro's finance function, ensuring high-quality financial reporting and compliance while supporting strategic decision-making. This is a key leadership role, managing a multi-disciplinary team to deliver insightful financial services to stakeholders across a large and diverse organisation.

Job Description



  • Deliver accurate and timely financial reporting aligned with corporate objectives.


  • Lead, motivate, and develop a finance team of specialists including business partners, payroll, and systems accountants (approx 20).


  • Ensure full compliance with statutory reporting and accounting standards (SORPs, FRS102).


  • Maintain robust internal controls, systems and processes that support operational effectiveness.


  • Provide commercial and financial input into new tenders and support procurement value-for-money initiatives.


  • Oversee the payroll interface with People Operations, ensuring compliance and timeliness.


  • Manage year-end processes and external audits efficiently and effectively.



 

The Successful Applicant

Knowledge of the charity or housing association sectors would be an advantage.

You will be a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with significant post-qualification experience and a strong record of leading finance teams in complex, contract-driven organisations with multiple service lines.

You will be a natural leader with excellent communication and relationship-building skills, highly analytical, detail-focused, and capable of delivering at scale.

 

What's on Offer

Salary circa £75K plus benefits. 

This role will require 2 days per week in Nacro's offices in Birmingham.
