Job Description

  • Provide strategic and tactical communications advice and support to the Director General, Unitary Board, Executive Team, Regional Directors
  • Provide timely and good quality media support to the organisation and in particular the Operations function on a 24/7 basis
  • Provide effective two-way communication and engagement with staff, in particular to engage them in delivery of the strategic plan, embedding our new values and cultural change to achieve our aims
  • Provide a high-quality corporate communication service covering publications, marketing, events management, editing etc.
  • Maintain and develop our external and internal websites and develop our use of social media
  • Ensure that we have clear, relevant, user friendly policy and guidance on matters such as house style, branding etc. and that their use is supported.
  • Evaluate and continually improve all communications activity

The Successful Applicant

  • Professional, senior level communications experience in an organisation with a high public profile and a track record of advising at the most senior level
  • Extensive experience of working with the media in a high profile, national organisation including an up-to-date knowledge of social media and the way it can work alongside traditional media
  • Proven ability to develop and deliver high quality and innovative strategic communications campaigns internally and externally across a range of channels with a track record in evaluation to ensure efficient and effective use of resources
