About Our Client

This FC Operations role is a unique and transformational role that will be at the core of our exciting new operational delivery model. It is a role designed specifically to create a positive impact on our business; helping the business deliver a cost-controlled environment against a backdrop of robust financial governance. This role will provide financial partnering at the highest level, working with varied stakeholders across the breadth of the Marine business. You will lead a team that will deliver the highest level of Finance support to our Operational leadership community.

Job Description

  • The role will be working closely with the Finance Director for Marine Operations & Engineering, supporting quality delivery across all of the below areas:



  • Delivering robust, reliable, accurate and effective controls across our key RRDL accounting areas of focus; Capital investment, Leased and Fixed Assets, Provisions & Inventory



  • Overseeing our Indirect cost base, including budgeting, reporting, influencing and controlling.



  • Delivering a high quality and robust rates process and model, including monthly reporting and performance analysis, along with a quarterly rates revision process. Furthermore, this role will own the formal rates process (and policy), the assumptions, allocations, methodology, hours (input), costs base capture and overarching accuracy and outputs



  • Financial control of Rosyth Site specific contract regulations (including the RFBA, CAAS rates and our nuclear sector involvement)



  • Delivering cost savings across the business, inline with (and in excess of) our commitments, ensuring we remain price competitive within the industry.



  • Supporting the Organisation In achieving successful outcomes of our Internal and External audits.



  • Providing quality business advice and decision-making recommendations, against a rapidly changing and dynamic backdrop, ensuring feedback loops and analysis is conducted to aid strategic business recommendations.



  • Maintaining financial controls and processes; PO's, budget ownership, capital ex management, investment business cases, IT expenditure (Hardware/Software), recruitment process etc



  • Playing your part in developing a team that thrives in an energetic and progressive culture, moving at pace, whilst doing so in an enjoyable and positive way.

The Successful Applicant

  • Qualified accountant with post qualification experience
  • Minimum ACA/ACMA/ACCA qualification
  • Experience in an operational environment.
  • A 'can do' attitude; driven, passionate and motivated, with a thirst for progression.
