Job Description

  • As a Financial Accountant you will hold responsibility for monthly reporting according to IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards) for various UK based subsidiaries. This will also include the preparation of statutory annual financial statements, active contribution to the monthly management reporting process and significant support to the external audit processes on an ongoing basis throughout the year.
  • You will guarantee adherence to strict deadlines, whilst ensuring the high-quality output of the financial statements to all internal and external stakeholders, ensuring the application of relevant accounting standards, financial integrity, internal controls and compliance in your area of responsibility.
  • You will take a key role in the financial planning processes such as the annual budget and rolling forecasts, including cash flow and foreign currency exposure planning.
  • You will be highly involved in digitalisation and continuous process improvement activities with a focus on quality management, independently analysing ongoing financial processes to identify areas for optimisation and automation.
  • Pro-active interaction and collaboration with UK and international partner companies, shared service centres and cross functional process partners.
  • We will determine your specific tasks and priorities together with you, considering your strengths and experiences, as well as areas where you would like to develop.

The Successful Applicant

The successful Financial Accountant will ideally have :

  • Possession of a professional accounting qualification (ACA / ACCA / CIMA or equivalent) required.
  • Previous, demonstrable experience in financial accounting with audit either as a client or client facing.
  • Experience within an international company and/or "Big Four" practice background is beneficial. Manufacturing industry experience would also be an advantage.
  • Knowledge of International Accounting Standards (IFRS) and FRS101 required.
  • Proficient in working with MS Office (especially MS Excel).
  • Excellent analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to work to tight deadlines.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills at all levels.
  • Knowledge and experience of using SAP R/3 and/or S/4HANA FI modules beneficial.
