About Our Client

A global medical products and technologies company that specialises in the development, manufacturing, and marketing of a wide range of healthcare products and solutions.

They are looking for a Facilities Engineer on a temporary basis for a minimum of 6 months.

Job Description

  • Oversee and perform preventive and corrective maintenance on building systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, lighting, and other facility-related systems.



  • Identify and resolve facility-related issues, including system malfunctions, breakdowns, and safety concerns, minimising downtime.



  • Manage facility improvement projects, including system upgrades, building renovations, and equipment installations. Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.



  • Ensure all facility operations comply with company policies, safety regulations, and local codes. Conduct safety inspections, risk assessments, and ensure emergency response systems are in place.



  • Monitor energy consumption and identify opportunities to optimise energy efficiency. Implement energy-saving initiatives to reduce facility operating costs.



  • Work with external contractors and service providers for specialised maintenance, repairs, or projects. Ensure all work meets company standards and timelines.



  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance schedules, repairs, equipment inspections, and service contracts. Prepare regular reports on facility performance and any maintenance issues or required improvements.



  • Work closely with production and engineering teams to support operational needs and ensure smooth facility operations. Provide technical support as needed for manufacturing equipment and systems.



  • Maintain an inventory of essential spare parts, tools, and equipment required for facility maintenance and repairs.

The Successful Applicant

  • Technical qualifications ie. C&G, ONC/HNC or mechnical or electrical engineering



  • Experience in maintenance and installation of a broad range of services and facilities within a manufacturing / engineering environment



  • Experience of working with, supervising and taking responsibility for external contractors and other service providers. Ability to support the effective operation of a Permit to Work system and other procedures and controls in support of this.



  • Demonstrated ability to analyse technical problems and develop appropriate solutions



  • Experience in developing successful new systems, practices, procedures within a Production/Maintenance Engineering technical operations



  • Strong communication skills in verbal and written formats



  • Evidence of understanding and capability across mechanical, electrical and control functions, also basic building maintenance



  • Understanding of principles/systems to support effective maintenance of a broad range of facilities and utilities.
