As the Disrepair Manager, you will oversee and manage all aspects of disrepair cases within the organisations portfolio. Your focus will be ensuring compliance with housing regulations, efficiently handling disrepair claims, and driving the resolution process. You'll lead a small team, working alongside contractors, legal professionals, and internal departments to address resident concerns, implement repairs, and maintain high standards across the stock.

Job Description

  • Lead and manage disrepair cases, ensuring compliance with housing laws and regulations.
  • Oversee the investigation, inspection, and resolution of disrepair complaints.
  • Develop and implement proactive strategies to minimise disrepair claims and improve overall service delivery.
  • Work closely with contractors, legal teams, and residents to facilitate timely resolutions.
  • Ensure robust documentation and record-keeping for all disrepair cases.
  • Manage and support a team of professionals, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback.
  • Stay up to date with housing regulations, disrepair case law, and industry best practices.
  • Maintain positive relationships with residents, ensuring their concerns are addressed in a professional and empathetic manner

The Successful Applicant

To be successful in this role, you should have proven experience in disrepair management or a similar capacity within the housing sector. You will need a strong understanding of housing law, disrepair regulations, and the processes involved in resolving claims. Leadership experience is essential, as you will be managing a team and ensuring that service standards are met consistently. The ability to work well under pressure, manage competing priorities, and communicate effectively with stakeholders is also key.Skills and Experience:

  • Extensive experience in disrepair management or a related role in the housing sector.
  • A strong understanding of housing law, disrepair legislation, and repair procedures.
  • Excellent leadership skills and experience managing teams.
  • Strong communication and negotiation abilities.
  • Ability to handle complex cases and work under pressure.
  • Ability to be an expert witness should cases go to court.
