Job Description
- Lead and manage disrepair cases, ensuring compliance with housing laws and regulations.
- Oversee the investigation, inspection, and resolution of disrepair complaints.
- Develop and implement proactive strategies to minimise disrepair claims and improve overall service delivery.
- Work closely with contractors, legal teams, and residents to facilitate timely resolutions.
- Ensure robust documentation and record-keeping for all disrepair cases.
- Manage and support a team of professionals, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback.
- Stay up to date with housing regulations, disrepair case law, and industry best practices.
- Maintain positive relationships with residents, ensuring their concerns are addressed in a professional and empathetic manner
The Successful Applicant
To be successful in this role, you should have proven experience in disrepair management or a similar capacity within the housing sector. You will need a strong understanding of housing law, disrepair regulations, and the processes involved in resolving claims. Leadership experience is essential, as you will be managing a team and ensuring that service standards are met consistently. The ability to work well under pressure, manage competing priorities, and communicate effectively with stakeholders is also key.Skills and Experience:
- Extensive experience in disrepair management or a related role in the housing sector.
- A strong understanding of housing law, disrepair legislation, and repair procedures.
- Excellent leadership skills and experience managing teams.
- Strong communication and negotiation abilities.
- Ability to handle complex cases and work under pressure.
- Ability to be an expert witness should cases go to court.
