Our client are a leading financial services group based in Cardiff and are recruiting for a Deputy Head of Financial Crime Operations - Fixed Term Contract role

Job Description

The Deputy Head of Financial Crime Operations - Fixed Term Contract will be responsible for:

  • To support the management and oversight of both the Screening and Enhanced Due Diligence teams to operate within defined processes and service level agreements
  • To support and provide clear guidance and direction for the operation of both teams, including prioritisation of workload including provision of expertise to the monitoring, controlling, reporting and management of risk
  • To ensure that the team's systems and functionality is maintained and tested to retain operational capability, escalating any concerns to the Head of Financial Crime
  • To partake in the co-ordination between the central operations sub-functions and the 1st Line Divisional 1st Line Business Teams, Divisional 2nd Line Financial Crime Teams, and Group Financial Crime, to address any issues that may arise
  • Produce clear and to-the-point management information for monthly and annual Board and MLRO reports, and representing the Financial Crime Operations team at various groups, oversight committees and team meetings

The Successful Applicant

The Deputy Head of Financial Crime Operations FTC should have the following skills:

  • Ability to maintain effective relationships with management and external parties, such as suppliers and outsourcers, to enable the delivery of practical solutions to problems or the implementation of improved systems, processes or controls.
  • Ability to demonstrate a proactive approach while overseeing the development and implementation of a comprehensive screening framework. and implementation of an Enhanced Due Diligence procedure
  • Ability to analyse data.
  • Demonstrates the ability to interrogate systems and extract data for the compilation of reports
  • Good written and verbal communication skills to ensure high quality delivery of management information and presentations in meetings and other forums
