Job Description

As Demand Planning Manager, the focus will be on a mix of step change activities combined with strong processes, continuous improvement, and action-oriented reporting!

  • Lead the demand planning team, demonstrating excellent team management skills, inspiration, coaching, and development against personal development plans.
  • Foster a collaborative and inclusive team culture, focused on achieving common goals and having clear performance expectations and established KPIs.
  • Facilitate the creation of the demand plan in the S&OP process; ensuring delivery of intelligence from other functions; brand, sales, category & supply.
  • Ensure an accurate base forecast which incorporates history, seasonality, high level market trends and customer ranging.
  • Develop and support the team on forming strong relationships with customers. Challenge customer forecasts when necessary and review compliance of collaborative data against actual orders.
  • Lead periodic S&OP review meetings.
  • Lead, own and review all demand planning processes seeking opportunities to improve and make more efficient, questioning their value and ensure they are fit for purpose.
  • Seek to fully utilise the demand planning system to its full functionality and be the relationship owner with the software provider (Futurmaster).
  • Drive the focus on strong relationships for external customers, internal functions and across the wider ABF businesses.
  • Demand representative with cross functional projects, driving continuous improvement through proactive involvement, strong communication flow and efficient deliver

The Successful Applicant

  • Excellent leadership skills, with the ability to coach, inspire, motivate and develop a high performing team.
  • In-depth understanding of demand planning and S&OP/IBP processes within manufacturing Inc. retailer supply/forecasting processes and customer facing experience (preferable)
  • Ability to take account of the bigger picture or overall impact.
  • Strong communication skills, specifically cross-functional and with external customers.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data and identify trends.
  • High level of numerical ability, attention to detail and aptitude to summarise complex data in a simple effective way.
  • Computer literacy with demand planning software alongside advanced Excel Skills - ability to build spreadsheets, navigate a BI system, including using and manipulating pivot tables.
  • Detail-orientated mindset with a focus on continuous improvement and operational excellence.
