Job Description

As the Commercial Director you will lead, motivate, and manage the sales team across the Facility Management, Leisure and Construction sectors. In this role, you will be responsible for driving high performance, ensuring the team consistently meets and exceeds sales targets. You will provide coaching and professional development to empower the sales team with the tools, skills, and support needed for success, while cultivating a results-driven culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement. As a strategic leader, you will collaborate with the executive team to align the commercial function with company goals, drive the development and execution of the sales strategy, and foster a customer-centric, growth-oriented mindset across the sales team.

This role requires a strong focus on business development, growth, and market penetration, with a key responsibility in identifying new opportunities and expanding the company's market share. You will actively engage in high-value client negotiations and ensure that the team stays ahead of market trends. Additionally, you will work closely with cross-functional teams to align sales, marketing, and operational goals, ensuring seamless service delivery and customer satisfaction. With a focus on data-driven decision-making, budgeting, and financial oversight, you will leverage CRM tools and sales analytics to track performance, refine strategies, and ensure that budget and revenue targets are met. Your leadership will inspire the team through periods of change and transformation, creating an inclusive and motivating culture that embraces innovation and continuous improvement.

The Successful Applicant

We are seeking Commercial Director with a successful track record leading the sales function to drive revenue growth from the commercial and industrial equipment or hard facility services sector, ideally with experience of selling into a range of industries such as facility management, construction and hospitality.

The successful candidate will have progressive experience in commercial and sales leadership roles, who has successfully managed sales teams and driven growth. You will demonstrated success in transforming and scaling commercial functions within similar industries. Proven leadership ability is essential, with a strong focus on achieving sales targets, building high-performing teams, and developing a positive and collaborative work culture. Strong strategic thinking, business acumen, and critical thinking skills are a must.

Excellent communication, negotiation, and people skills are required, along with the ability to influence and build relationships with internal teams and external clients. You should be proficient in CRM systems and sales management software, with a data-driven approach to decision-making. A high level of personal integrity is crucial, with the ability to command authority while maintaining a positive and approachable demeanour.
