We are in search of a dedicated CNC Setter/Operator to join our Engineering & Manufacturing department, focusing on delivering high-quality industrial and manufacturing solutions within our Birmingham base.

Job Description

  • Set up and operate CNC machines to perform tasks such as drilling, grinding, milling etc.
  • Translate instructions into computer commands so the machines can perform the correct function.
  • Prepare and load raw materials and parts onto the machines.
  • Supervise the machines while they execute the tasks and make any necessary adjustments to produce a better result.
  • Inspect and measure finished products and compare them with requirements to determine if the process has been completed properly.
  • Check and maintain machinery daily to ensure functionality.
  • Report any issues or malfunctions to the Engineering & Manufacturing department.
  • Keep records of operations, maintenance and relevant data in logbooks.

The Successful Applicant

A successful CNC Setter/Operator should have:

  • Proficiency in operating CNC machinery and tooling.
  • Experience and knowledge of working in a similar role within a precision engineering/manufacturing environment is desirable.
  • Experience and knowledge of setting and operating CNC Machinery
  • Experience in 5 axis machining / Mill turns.
  • MAZAK machining experience (preferred but not essential)
  • Use of Mazatrol
  • Use of FANUC controls
  • Experience of one-off production
  • Tooling measurement experience
