You will support a team of buyers, ensuring effective day-to-day operations and strategic performance. This role involves building strong supplier relationships, driving procurement improvements, and supporting our growth objectives.Key Responsibilities:Build and maintain strategic relationships with key suppliers, ensuring clear communication and effective procurement activities.Assist the procurement team with daily operations, supplier performance, risk management, and improvement initiatives.Manage supplier performance using scorecards and implement performance improvements as needed.Prepare and present KPI reports for internal and external stakeholders.Identify and deliver cost-saving opportunities.Support the procurement manager with tendering and sourcing processes.Negotiate and agree on terms, conditions, and contracts, including KPI management.Attend and participate in supplier and customer meetings, both on-site and off-site.Maintain accurate procurement master data in our systems.Mentor and manage a team of junior buyers and deputise for the Procurement Manager when required.The Successful ApplicantSuccessful Applicants Will Have:3-5 years of experience in procurement, preferably within the engineering or defence sectors.Proven track record in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.Previous Senior Buyer or similar role as Assistant Procurement ManagerAbility to lead and motivate a team effectively.MCIPS/CIPS qualification is desirable but not essential.Experience in delivering procurement savings and managing supplier relationships.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).Flexible working arrangements (4 days office, 1 day remote) in BristolWhat's on OfferThe successful Assistant Procurement Manager will receive; Competitive salary of £50,000 - £60,000 DOEFlexible working arrangements (4 days office, 1 day remote)Shared profit bonus schemeCompetitive pension schemeContactLaura FrostQuote job refJN-092024-6537989Phone number+44 117 906 5521Job summaryJob functionProcurement & Supply ChainSubsectorDirect ProcurementSectorPublic SectorLocationBristolContract typePermanentConsultant nameLaura FrostConsultant phone+44 117 906 5521Job referenceJN-092024-6537989
