About us

Stoke-on-Trent is leading the way in developing its Levelling Up programme, with sites that are already delivering results. They’re backed by £56m in funding from Government – the highest funding allocation for any city in the country – and a deep understanding of what our city needs to grow, support residents and businesses and make Stoke-on-Trent succeed for generations to come.

Stronger Together: Our vision

Our aim is to support the people who live and work here by providing the best services that meets the needs of our communities and families. Our priorities are to support vulnerable people in our communities, enable our residents to fulfil their potential, help businesses to thrive, work with our communities to make them healthier, safer and more sustainable and to provide effective leadership to help transform outcomes. In addition to Levelling Up Stoke-on-Trent, we use the phrase Powering Up the City, and that’s exactly what’s happening here. As a City Council, we will continue to work with local, regional and national partners to get the very best for our city, and to make it a city we can all be proud of.

Stoke-on-Trent has the opportunity to be the blueprint and is the litmus test for the government’s Levelling Up agenda. We are up for it, there is tremendous political will and passion in Stoke-on-Trent to transform the city. So yes, these are big jobs in and for a city with huge aspiration, with assets and a willingness to match!
