I started with the business in 2002 when we were known as Ricochet Couriers as a telephonist in our Staines branch. In 2004 I was offered the chance to head up our National Control centre (NCC), we found a gap in our operation- with over 40 Courier service centres a ‘National’ customer we have to liaise with each service centre individually when booking requests or looking for service updates. The NCC gave us the foundation to offer a seamless ‘one stop shop’ to our customers who have a National requirement. I have had various roles throughout my time, each one allowing me to really understand and grow the Courier Services business. From account management to sameday commercial manager. Between 2018 to 2019 I spent several months in India assisting with the implementation of one of our major group customers who was rolling out services across India. I recently took over as ‘Courier Services Director’ in May 2019 and I enjoy the role as much as the day I started. I work with some truly inspirational people every day, we have a real good team spirit across divisions and most importantly every day is different.

Before I started with the business I worked for a company called ‘Burnham Couriers’. Little did I know after weeks of accepting a role with ‘Rico’ (Ricochet’ ) I would be working with old colleagues again as Rico acquired Burnham logistics adding Technical, FSL and trunking to their portfolio of services back in 2002. I started working in the warehouse managing pick and pack operations where I was really able to get hands on experience of the operation. In 2004 I was selected to support with Service management of one of our biggest customers at the times ‘Siemens’ setting up a support desk to manage all their bookings and queries. Working closely with the NCC manager as Operational manager at the time together we grow the NCC by adding new service offerings to customers over time. I set up Asset recovery desk, collections desk and most recently supported with the set up of our ‘Special services team’ where we now offer haulage, next flight out, sameday to Europe services and manage special projects for the Courier Division. I have enjoyed my time at Rico and hope to continue my personal growth by accepting new challenges as we grow.

My journey with Rico started back in December 2006 when I joined as a Customer Services Manager working with our PUDO / In-night Division. My main focus was the implementation and roll out of customer helpdesks. From there I took on the role of Administration Manager rolling out the Billing Processes for our growing European customer base and I now hold the role of Technology Commercial Manager for our rest of the world business. During my time with Rico I have had the opportunity to travel internationally and to be involved in many ground breaking projects. The Company recently sponsored me to do my ACCA, which I am part way through. Last year the company supported my relocation from the midlands to Scotland when my partner secured a new career opportunity.
